FUTURE PLANNING

my understanding of career is many things. Stuff like occupation, employment, , what sections there are and more. I think career is about the jobs showing what they do, who they make trades with and types of people they employ.

I think kotahitanga is about being one, not many. Taking care of your whanau and playing games and relating with each other as well. You can get along with others in your team and express things that each of you like.

I think Rangatiratanga is about being a leader and showing that your capable of leading yourself and others. Many leaders have leaders above them. governors might even have leaders that have less possessions and power than them. Rangatiratanga can be many things and anyone can be one if they have, aroha, kaha, tinana and many more.

Each concept relates to this topic because all of this can be used in future planning. You have to use career to succeed in life and you can get the option to build relationships with your workmates too. You can become a leader at work by showing them what to do right  if they are doing it wrong, and that's what makes you a leader. future planning is what makes the concepts we've been learning about very important.

I have learnt many things in this topic. One being how to get a job, what requirements you need to  get different jobs and how you can relate with each other. I learnt that even if your skilled and have many traits, you can still get rejected from many jobs and if you have many business skills, big companies might want to employ you.

Post 1 Date: Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Title: comparing two declarations.

My reflection on the treaty of waitangi  was to compare 2 different declarations and how each impacted on Maori people. 1st: the treaty of waitangi was made for Maori and British people to make peace and make fair trades with each other, but Kawiti was curious about the British and didn’t trust them. Since the treaty was in English the Maori people couldn’t understand it and they snuck in a lot of things they told them they wouldn't do.

Post 2 Date: the land march. link

The land march got over 1 thousand people to join in and thousands more watching. They walked from the hapua to wellington. The leader of the march was Daina fina Cooper and her son and daughter.

They would always stop now and then. Daina fina cooper influenced many people to fight for what’s theirs along with her famous quote “not one more acre.” Theri march took over a month walking and stopping in many marae's. The march was put together by Daina Fina Cooper because the government was stealing maori land without making a deal or trade. The march went across all of Northland until they got to wellington. Some were crying that they went this far to get to the end. Others were happy.

The marchers gave the government a headache and immediately accepted the marchers' offer. Everyone was confused because the government accepted the offer extremely quickly but everyone went home. Whina Cooper waited there for a couple days for them to hand over the land but they didn’t. It then started many riots and protests until eventually a few years later they did it.

Post 3 Date: Ngā kupu matua mo tō tātou whenua  link

Title:

My reaction to this blog is about what I learnt while doing this mahi.

Kupu matua is a range of important words but we learnt about 3 of these words.

Those being, kotahitanga, whakapapa and kotahitanga. Once we finished we had to explain how they relate to each other, below is my understanding:

Whakawhanaungatanga was an interesting one because of how much people relate to it and use it everyday. Whakapapa was basic but still important because of its name. Our whakapapa make’s us who we are today and we have to acknowledge how they fought in wars, experienced near deaths and many, many more. Kotahitanga was a kupu matua I didn’t know much about but was very cool to work on. What it basically means is to unite with each other. For example, many Maori tribes had to unite with each other to win the battle against the British. That’s all the information I knew but others probably had more.

Post 4 Date: career choice link

Title:

In this topic we had to choose a job that we would like to pursue in the future, We then had to research stuff like, how much money you make, how long you would have to train for and ect. After that we had to work on a booklet called ‘My Dream Something’. What we had to do was choose our dream house, what we would want in our house and activities we would like to do, we then had to choose a place to go to for a vacation. I chose Mars because why not. After all of that we then faced an unexpected turn, and that was our billing. So everything we chose we would have to work out how much money we would lose and more.

Post 5 Date: nz entrepreneur  link

Title:

In this topic we had to choose a person who made a famous brand or shop and research about them. I chose Hellenstein because they were very fashionable and cool. The creator of hallensteins was Bendix hallenstein. His family owned an old mill that would sell clothes from rags and other stuff. After that we then had to make a poster about our entrepreneur and it had to be styled good.

leadership and government blog post

This term I worked on leadership and government in Social Studies. What leadership and government basically is, is a system of networks that provide meanings of leadership and Government. The systems and networks are a metaphor but it shows how much meaning the two words have. The first thing we learnt about leadership were things that made leadership what it really is. The other things were speeches and bravery and My speech consisted of many things about leadership so people know the deep and full understanding of what it really is.  For government we just learnt about how many rules were changed throughout the years due to the governments and different parties argued and complained about the rules being changed or staying the same.
